SPELEOScene is the Newsletter of the National Caving Association and it includes the NCA Training Bulletin.
It is issued bi-monthly, in the odd-numbered months (Jan, Mar, May, etc.) It is timed to appear between issues of the commercial magazine DESCENT.
SPELEOScene itself is an A4 4-page publication and the Training Bulletin is also normally an A4 4-page publication.

1. SPELEOScene aims to provide basic information on safety, access, conservation and practical matters to all British cavers, both through the clubs and to individual cavers, in a readily accessible form on a regular basis.
2. SPELEOScene is posted free of charge to paid-up member clubs and constituent bodies of NCA. (Thus it provides provide a means of circulating official NCA papers to constituent bodies and member clubs to encourage them to take a full part in NCA; such papers are included with SPELEOScene to members.) It is also available posted direct to subscribers.
3. Each issue contains updated information on safety/equipment matters, access throughout all Bristish caving regions, information on forthcoming events, meetings, conferences. There is also information on grants available, etc. and on other matters of national interest to all cavers.
4. SPELEOScene includes information on safety and access in caving regions abroad where this is felt to be of particular interest to British cavers and it also carries information on major events and conferences abroad.
5. Each issue includes a Training Bulletin containing articles on training/safety matters, specific information of use to C.I.C.'s and holders of LCMLA awards, reports on past training events, advance information/booking forms, etc. for forthcoming training events.
6. Each issue contains regularly updated addresses, phone/fax numbers and e-mail addresses of regional contacts for information, access, training, event booking, etc. plus NCA officers' addresses.
7. Each issue contains regularly updated information on NCA publications for sale.
8. Each issue contains regularly updated information on the availability of SPELEOScene from shops and other centres throughout Britain who keep bulk stock for cavers to collect free of charge. (A donation to local Cave Rescue funds is encouraged)
